My Fair Lady-The Postponed One
Tuesday 13th and the Mighty Pins were summoned to the Park and Dare to complete Treorchy Comprehensive Schools My Fair Lady, which had fallen foul of the weather last Friday. After some frantic phoning around a crew was found.
Gav turned up early and was given a gift from the cast. They had collected some money and didnt know what to by the pins, so Rhys"bubbles"Williams decided on tea and biscuits..the muppet.
Unfortunately he has not yet realised that the staple diet of most of the Hingepins is Lager and Fags. So next time a crate of Carling and 200 Lamberts will be in order.
The show was running okay until the first change! Big Gay Bear decided to block Meinir and stopped her from getting on the stage. This caused Graham to call the lights up to early, leaving Glenn lit nicely in blue.
The second half started with Gav making his second appearence of the year, when he announced Zoltan and his mates onto the stage as one of the teachers couldnt make it. He was asked by 14 year old kids if he had done shows before and did he know what he was doing. (my first show was 1988, most of their parents were still in school then)
We got through the rest of the night without a hitch, listened to the heads monologue, watched Miss Bethan Thomas walk on stage with a crocodile clip stuck to her dress (Andrew did it!), then the fun started.
Peter Kay minus the sense of humour turned up to get the set, he had obviously forgotten to take his happy tablets as he shouted at us for getting the cloths dirty, apart from the fact they turned up ripped and full of dust was not the point. Meinir was forced to take some tablets by Graham, but at least Sam managed to hit him in the head with some scenery (it was a clumsy accident..by Sam..must be true then). He then accused us of sawing a leg off one of the chairs, unless the chair had five legs to start with he was mistaken.
He did state that there was two jam tarts and a slice of battenburg missing, and he will be billing the school.
We all managed to make it to the bar for a swift half before making our weary way home.
Good effort again Pinskis see you all in Annie
