Interlink Award

On Friday 29th Mike, Liz, Graham , Meinir and Gavin went to the Interlink Volunteer Awards dinner at the University of Glamorgan to collect the Volunteer award for Community Arts and Community Education.

Elaine Andrews of Rhondda Theatre Group, who had nominated the mighty Pins was with us, along with Cheryl Martin of RTG. The Hingepins proved they own clothes that are not black and everyone looked dapper.

The evening started with the awards, presented by HTV newsreader Arfon Haines Davies. Talking of Arfon, Elaine nagged the guts out of Gav to have her photo taken with him, so eventually when Mike asked him, Elaine went up to him and said "Oh Thank you Arfon, these lot have nagged me to have my photo with you!".

Fair play to Elaine she put up with some ribbing, she told us that there was a radio station opening in Penrhys and that she wouldnt mind doing something with them. Gav told her that she had a face for radio!.

We all had a nice bit of grub and were more or less the last to leave. A good night was had by all. Although only the five of us were there, this award is for all of you so well done
