Hinge Pins History

The HingePins provide the technical assistance to enable many local amateur dramatic societies and other organisations to put on public performances. This includes stage management,lighting and sound design and operation, stage crewing, props and other backstage requirements. We act as the unseen backstage crew for most productions in the Park and Dare Theatre, Treorchy. Many of the HingePins have crewed in other South Wales Venues such as Porthcawl,Pontypridd, Llandrindod Wells,Abergavenny,Cardiff, Blackwood, Maesteg,Nantymoel, Aberdare, Newport and Brynmawr.

All members give up many hours to work on the performances and the setting up of shows and the dismantling of the sets.

We are always looking for new members to join the HingePins, so if you have ever wondered how a show runs or you are interested in the Theatre but dont fancy the singing and dancing side of things, get in touch or come along when we are crewing a show. If you are under the age of 16 you must have a member of the Hinge Pins to be with you for the whole week of the show (safety reasons).
