AG Dress Rehearsal
The dress rehearsal went well and it all looks bright and pretty now, so things are looking up. Tom “Jam Tarts” as he’s known by the crew, for reasons which will not be explained, was suffering with a sore throat, but battled on. Ponty Craig and the cast’s Little Thomas didn’t make it on stage for Bon Voyage because they were still changing, so we’re expecting some stripping in the wings tonight, a la The Full Monty. Cheryl and a gang of the others didn’t make it on after the interval, so one wonders what they were up to. Whey hey!
Daniel and Tall Tom did a great job on the follow spots, all the way down to tight facials. I won’t write on here what Daniel’s threatening to highlight on the standing trumpeter! Oh, and Daniel has ruined Sam and JB’s rods and cones. Sam tells me that you need A-level Biology to know what they’re going on about. JB of the Curtain Walkers Union turned up last night, but as there were no curtains to be walked in, he turned on his heels and spent the evening in the auditorium.
Rhys did a good job calling the book for the first time last night. Well done! There was one incident though when Daniel went missing, which really pi**ed Rhys off, then Rhys apologised because it seemed to have been his fault. By the time we got to the Stag, the Confessions music was playing because the cue was on Daniel’s sheet all along. “Oh, Daniel!” And all of this was when Graham was quite near by, and we all know that Daniel hasn’t quite been forgiven for the panto incident yet!
Sam was an excellent Tea Sam and provided nice crunchy crumbly biscuits. Ken, Mike, Michelle and Liz did a sterling job on SL without a hitch in sight. Meinir and Sam did not a lot on SR, but had a lot of fun tying up Margaret in a lifejacket. Graham who’s stage managed more shows than the rest of us have had hot dinners was heard to declare on many an occasion, “Do I have to do everything around here?”, but he loves it, so Meinir and Sam left well alone.
Here are your posers for opening night:
Will the wheelchair make it on stage in a straight line tonight?
Will Sharon get the wheelchair with Liam in it over the lip tonight?
Why does Cast Little Thomas look so terrified of Graham when he’s asking for his glasses back?
Will Tom Glover make an appearance tonight or will there be another executive meeting for him to attend?
Will Rhys catch any of the crew in the light on opening night?
Will Daniel go AWOL tonight?
Will Ken be injured tonight?
See you tonight – and God bless the ship and all who sail in her!
